To repeat what others have said, requires education; to challenge it, requires brains. Mary Pettibone Poole, A Glass Eye at a Keyhole, (1938)

Teaching Women's Studies
I believe it is necessary to become more aware of
ones
surroundings in
order to acknowledge ones expectations of themselves. More
specifically, being taught is the opportunity to enhance ones technical
skills, critical thinking, in addition to experiences needed to build
on awareness.
Guiding students beyond the classroom is one of
the values I find most appealing in teaching. I believe advising
a student reconnects them to their strengths and abilities.
Directing students through this process supports the reason why I
teach.
