As
I
continue with the "See Jane" series, as discussed on the Current Series page link, I
am inspired by current events directly connected to women. The
piece titled "Target Jane" was created after reading article after
article and viewing clip after clip on my television about Health Care
Reform. On a daily basis women's bodies were continuously being
used as arguement for or against Health Care Reform. I found
myself feeling as if I was a target without a voice.
Being a target, of sorts, makes me feel like I am on display to be devoured in haste by all around me, just as a child may devoure a cake on their birthday. This was the inspiration to "See Jane Eat". |
